Leedsy, you are a man who likes your quotating I see. I'll refrain from quoting your quotations, for one I don't know how to do is as stylishly as you do.

For the record I'm not a man, and I was rather pleased that my quotes actually worked - I didn't realise it was that easy!
It's not really a case of posters being irritated, your opening post was full of how much you'd done for Lloyds which was totally irrelevant (sadly). There is a huge difference between account balance and available balance - you took a chance that your funds were enough to draw upon but they weren't. It seems you've then sat on the debt, using your career abroad as an excuse not to deal with it.
Your best way forward would be to write everything out in chronological order, take a copy, and send the original by recorded delivery to Lloyds, keep it factual rather than emotional - they may be prepared to come to an agreement, but I doubt it will be for the amount you feel you owe.

To those who offered sound advice, cheers.
To those who have nothing better to do than trawl the site to make judgements. Have a w@nk, it's a lot more fun.

    Posting is my foreplay :rotfl:

    Hindsight is a powerful thing.

You did not get any flexibility from Lloyds after introducing so many new customers. This is a shame, but the way to thanks Lloyds for this is to take your business elsewhere, not refuse the pay the OD charges.

You took a bet on the consumer winning the OD fees case - and you lost. You should not have taken this bet - you should have paid your OD fees and then reclaimed them if the consumer did win.

But none of these thoughts are constructive - you are where you are right now. Like others say, you do owe the money & should pay it. But if I were in your position I would keep well away from it until it is ancient history & statute barred.
