Orange GOGW Removal of Late Payment Markers

Hi

I signed up for a contract mobile with Orange in Feb 2009. It was over 18 months.

I never used the phone to make a call or text over the whole contract. I just bought it for the phone. Stupid really, lots of wasted money, wont ever do it again.

Half way through the contract I called them and reduced the monthly payment knowing I didnt need to pay as much, I continued to pay the bills.

I ran into some financial difficulty and the payment history looks like this on my credit file with Equifax

S00000032211000000U

I have heard of people asking Orange (mine was with Everything Everywhere) to remove late payment markers as a gesture of goodwill.

Please tell me if you think there is any chance of this working for me, and what approach do you think I should use? Based on there been no calls on the contract it was a cheap deal for them.

Thanks
ZEN

Slim to none, And I know I have just had 2 off mine. Generally the account ran ok. You did a great thing by letting it run with several 0 after it.

You need a very good reason as to why. Did you move house. get into financial difficulty and advise them.

Its worth a try but prepare a good case before hand. Remember you are out of the contract now so they don't really owe you anything unfortunately. Are you up to speed on everything else and are the bills low on all your available credit?

You could always try a notice of Correction with the credit agencies. Its worth noting if you finished Aug 2010 (maths is not my strong point) This stays on for 6 years but its also pretty recent in terms of credit files.

I cantacted orange a while back and asked them to update my payment history as GOGW and it was done within 24 hours of sending the email.

    Email them at: referrals.fax.inbox@everythingeverywhere.com

This was the email I sent them at time:

    Dear Orange,

I was wondering if you could help me.

I have recently obtained copies of my credit reports from the credit reference agencies as i'm currently in the process of making an application for my first mortgage.

However it appears that there are a few late payment markers registered by yourself with the credit reference agencies in
the early days of when my account my opened.

I appreciate this has been done in accordance with your terms and conditions. However I was wondering as gesture of goodwill if you would be willing to remove the late payment markers from my credit files.
