Ideas for Home Decorated Baubles?

Bought about a dozen foam 'snowball' tree decorations on sale last yr but when they arrived they were so bashed only three still had the sparkly glitter on them - and a few looked a bit battered.
Now I have about 9 bare foam balls with hanging threads attached.
Not wanting for this year but thought someone might have a good and simple idea of what to do with them.
Could just roll in glitter again - but I don't get out so would have to order stuff online for whatever project I did.

Torn up coloured tissue paper pasted all over, build up the layers to get an even colour. Use a hole punch on gold or silver paper and paste the punched circles onto the bauble. We made baubles out of foil a few years back, and decorated them this way- they're still some of my favourites! They call me Dr Worm... I'm interested in things; I'm not a real doctor but I am a real worm.

Lots of pins and sequins - easy peasy (but time-consuming and hard on the finger tips!) - http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=sequin+baubles&gs_sm=e&gs_upl=4461l9368l0l9513l18l11l2l4l4l0l231l1404l3.7.1l17l0&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.,cf.osb&biw=1366&bih=629&um=1&ie=UTF-8&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=8gvtTreFBcfr8QOWkejvBQ0

Thanks Pixie - they look cute. Like the ones with the clear tipped pins - could do red/white ones or have seen Christmas Pudding one which is cute.

Could cover them in pretty Christmas fabric.
There are lots of blogs with tutorials on them but I'm not sure if I'm allowed to post links to them.
Basically use strips of festive fabric and apply with PVA glue, leave to dry, add a cord or ribbon to hang them, simple
