can't pay income tax

sorry - CLAPTON but are you saying that because I was on self assessment I'll still be able to earn £7475 before tax kicks in even though I was earning - just not on PAYE? Cos if this is the case then that's really good news.
what I'm saying is the PAYE works on your tax code i.e 747L and you will be taxed accordingly by your employer; so if this tax year you earn less than 7475 you will pay no tax on your PAYE earnings
if you have other non PAYE earnings (i.e. your income before July) then the tax due will be charged when you do your SE return for 2011-12 sometime next year0 -
Thank you CLAPTON. I think that all makes sense now - and it means I'm probably not going to have to pay tax on this financial years earnings through PAYE which is definately a help - I was expecting another big bill for this.0
