    I like the picture of them standing proudly next to their fully stocked freezer, with the caption "middle class idiots are stocking up on non perishable food" or whatever it is. Ha ha!

    I'm not sure the huge amount of fairy laundry detergent is going to help much once the power goes off either. Good to see they got loads of essential champers and a crate of becks though. Not sure about the dry weetabix though - maybe they'll smear it with some of the mayonnaise from those huge jars which will go off in about a day once opened with no refrigeration. I'm sure the raw onion salad will be nice too.

    Basically they're either idiots or this isn't real. As this is from a well known right wing comic I'm guessing both apply.

    Tinned pilchards, that's what you need.

    Wife: "Husband, come and look at the TV! There's been a global banking collapse and people have gone feral! The army can't cope and a state of emergency has occurred!
    Husband: "I knew this day would one day come. Wife: go to the garage and get our emergeny supplies of Bollinger. We'll be just fine."

    I like the bit in the article about how us Brits don't do this type of thing, but it's considered normal in America. That's because Americans can often be a bit mental.

    I noticed the Bollinger too. I wonder if it is on a list of "essential" items for the middle classes;

    "gas masks - tick"
    "baked beans - tick"
    "iodide tablets - tick"
    "two bottles of Bollinger - tick"

    Asheron won't need food and supplies, he'll have some silver to help see him through.
  • Perhaps a better strategy would be to buy a enough gold to buy a couple of tickets out of the country should the worst happen. Maybe a shot gun would be handy too.

    2 bottles? There's at least another 10 in the wine rack below and probably more behind the 7 tons of onions. Maybe that's just tattinger though...
