People say the more you enter the better your chances but I really don't think there's much you can do unless your creative and can do the effort comps. Facebook can sometimes give you little wins but to be honest some people are just very lucky and some aren't! I think the only tip is don't expect to win!

    My top tips are:

Enter as many competitions as physically possible! (This is the main one)
Enter local competitions (check your local paper/free magazines/shopping centres, etc)
Enter comps with lots of prizes - eg win 1000 mascaras
Enter competitions which require effort, eg photo, caption, tips, recipes, top score on a game, etc
Enter comps with obscure prizes which not many people would want - only do this if you want it yourself though!
Enter comps with smaller prizes, eg DVDs, etc
Use facebook and twitter - I haven't won anything on twitter (probably because I can't get my head around it), but have had several facebook wins, and what I like is that you can usually tell the maximum number of people that have entered based on the number of fans they have
And finally (again), enter LOTS of competitions!
  • All of the above and blog competitions x good luck
Make £2 a day challenge - doing well so far.

I try not to enter when there are only 1 or 2 prizes as chances are very small. I only won in comp when they had 100 prizes for grubs, in my case one of 100 toasters... I also won in Tassimo comp when they had 200 machines... I am not lucky as some other people are...
    Good luck!

If you don't have too much time for comping, I would seriously consider signing up to Facebook with the sole purpose of comping. I've not won a jot in regular comps, but I've won nearly £2000 worth of various goodies on Facebook, including a laptop and an iPad 2 since signing up in late October. There's also a great community of MSE'ers and compers there so you'll find your feet quite quickly. Many Facebook competitions are generally very quick to enter, often with only a 'like' required, whether a page, or a post. I also think Facebook is where competitions are going. Not only does it save the companies in question money in terms of not having to buy web domains but it'll be quicker and easier for them to publish competition via Facebook, so now's a good time to sign up. That's my 2 cents worth. Best of luck and hope you can win some nice prizes in time for Xmas.

You can't boost your chances as such. There is no fool proof method to winning. Just enter lots and if you win you win if you don't keep trying unless you dont enjoy entering.

Firstly dont despair - when you least expect it you will win something brilliant. From Jan this year I had a trickle of books ( not complaining as I love books) then BOOM an Xbox and Kinect arrived so unexpectadly my blood pressure went through the roof :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:. The secret is to just enjoy entering into the spirit of things, anything won is an added bonus it is costing you nothing but a few minutes (or hours;)) of your time.

Merry Christmas and happy comping :D:D:D
  • ty guys :) but my dry spell might be over i had an email saying i was on the shortlist for a signed little mix shirt wish me luck :D
