its a bit of a fuzzy line methinks, but meh

The question of it being spam is made even fuzzier by the fact that eBay themselves say "If your trading partner doesn't leave feedback for you, you may choose to send them a polite reminder via email. If they still don't leave feedback, it's likely they've chosen not to leave a comment for you at all."

They aren't saying you should do it, but at the same time it implies that it is ok to do so.

    Ooo dear....

  • according to dictionary.com

    Spam
    noun
    1. a canned meat made largely from pork
    2. unwanted e-mail (usually of a commercial nature sent out in bulk)

    verb
    1. send unwanted or junk e-mail

So i think- if im really still bothered- it could be classified as spam

but so could an email saying an item is dispatched though? if the buyer doesn't want that email... isnt bothered about being told it's sent... only that it arrives....then that could be spam.

Infact, unwanted email to a buyer could include sending payment reminders if they've changed their mind and don't want the item.... doesn't mean i wouldn't send them a message asking to complete sale! hehe

By entering a bid/winning item you expect and therefore are happy to receive the email
By generalisation- spam is aking for something- money/time (feedback) so i think the Op's mail could class as spam
I don't even care now- im just proving a point

But by bidding you are agreeing- in advance you will pay it

Im sure ive had one or two NPB- one then apologised months later, had a genuine reason he hadn't been on computer- and then bidded on another of my items (and paid) so i hadn't lost out on a sale- nice bloke

But yes- have i won yet :p;)

    Never! Rahhh!!! ;)

My NPBers, 2 paid out in the end (1 invoice, 1 reminder 10days later, the NPB thingymajig.... i get spamalicious ;) ) and other got a strike. No word of apology or excuse for any of them  guess its luck of the draw. Maybe i am a nag with emails to buyers, but i try and keep them in the loop as much as possible with how the process is going my end, so i like to hear if they've received it safely and were happy with everything.
