I didn't realise people were so passionate either way about the importance of feedback.

It is a bit frustrating when people don't leave feedback, but I've never been bothered to chase people for it, as long as they don't leave an unwarranted neg, I'm not fussed. There have been times where I haven't left feedback, because I don't like leaving negatives, because of the whole retalliatory feedback blackmail thing.

Let's get a perspective though - if high street retailers had "Feedback scores" most of them would score quite poorly, and it doesn't hamper them.

I totally agree with you! If someone leaves me FB I will do the same for them UNLESS I've had a problem with them in some way, in which case I'd leave none at all. As far as my own feedback goes, as long as its all positive its all

I haven't read thw whole thread

IMO while u didnt deserve the abuse- he certainly didn't deserve some little whiner asking for feedback. I don't even notice if i don't get it- and don't particularly care

Its as annoying as people here who's thanks count is their life

Report him if you want- but learn your lesson

I imagine many people would neg you for harassing them
  • A - I am not a whiner!!!
B - I left feedback for him, so I asked him kindly to reciprocate (not alot to ask really!)
C - he got the bargain of the century!!!! I was !!!!ed off he didn't have the decency to respond....
D - I am relatively new to e-bay and wanted to build on my feedback score..
    E - I haven't learnt any lesson!!!
    F - HARDLY HARRASSMENT!!!!!

  • If you sell a lot of items on Ebay you will know how boring a job leaving feedback is,i do mine once a week or so all at once but i get loads of messages after a day or so asking me for feedback and i'll be honest it does annoy me.

For someone who can't be bothered to read the thread and who doesn't particularly care about the OP you are certainly getting heated enough to use abusive language - "little whiner"???!!!

I take it you are in the same league as the OP's buyer and think its OK to be abusive, even to a newbie who may not be aware of ebay equittite and that their actions are offending you?

If I'm looking to buy something off eBay, and i find 2 sellers with the item at similar price, and similar postage, the fb helps me decide who to buy it off, and I don't mean the one with 500 fb vs the one with 30.... i'd rather buy off someone who has been complimented on how they package/delivery times etc, quality not quantity. It might not be everyone's cup of tea, but it's there and everyone i know who uses ebay says its one of the major factors in making them decide to purchase. i've been ebaying for a few years now, never had anyone complain, and having heard others say they pay attention to fb as well . it's just individual transaction practise i guess, like the lovely seller who wrapped all her sales like gifts, or the one who added a mini bag of gummi bears :D may be silly, pointless, mean nothing in the grand scheme, but its a nice personal touch in whats otherwise a bland mass of internet shopping.

ebaying to me is a hobby, i do it on the side, so like all the little emails and such. maybe i'd be rahhhh-ing over leaving fb's too if i was selling lots :rotfl: i should try and sell more stuff instead of posting on this place ;)
    :rotfl:
  • Here's my question...........if you (you know who you are) don't leave feedback .......................WHY NOT??!!! If someone has left it for you and e-bay reminds you every time you log on then why BLOODY NOT????!!!!

You lot take the time to reply here so my guess is you're all pig ignorant!!!
