Feedback is necessary with ebay and if it's not reciprocated then I think it's down right rude!

I generally send off an email (similar template one as the ones i do for winning bidders, receiving payment, cleared payment if a cheque and dispatch) asking if they wouldn't mind leaving feedback as the fb is generally what buyers tend to use to guide them to who's a seller to trust or not.

    Along the lines of...
Many thanks for purchasing "***something***" from my eBay auction.

I notice from my records that you have not yet left feedback for this transaction, I hope that everything went smoothly and that you were pleased with both your purchase and the service I provided.

The details of the auction are given below:

    Item title: **item title**
    Item number: xxxxxxxx
    Web Address: **linky**
    Total cost (incl P&P): £xx.xx
Dispatch Date: Whenever of the whatever month
    Buyer User ID: yourebay
    Seller User ID: myebay

If you were satisfied with the transaction I would be obliged if you could please spare a couple of minutes to leave feedback. This helps build my reputation as a seller, and is a helpful guide for other buyers like yourself so that they may feel confident in bidding on one of my auctions.

To leave feedback now, just click on the link below:
    ***link here***

If you are for any reason NOT happy with your purchase please send me an e-mail to discuss the matter, and I will do my best to assist you. My e-mail address is: me@myemail.com

Apologies if you would rather not leave feedback - simply disregard this email, I make every attempt not to repeat such messages.

Thank you again for your business, I hope to see you soon :)

    Kind regards,
    Me

I understand some don't want to leave feedback, but I always use a members feedback to judge if i'd be comfortable buying off them, regardless of the value of the goods, and would rather trust the judgement of other buyers previously compared to just the say so of the seller.

Im rambling a bit now... think it's time to go home... night night :)

Sorry but that is still a load of crock. It doesn't matter how you dress it up you're still screaming "I'M DESPERATE FOR FEEDBACK!!!!!!!!" and it's so pathetic. Why does it bother you so much?

And your overly critical posts scream "I'M DESPERATE FOR ATTENTION!!!!!!!"

Its getting boring. Why does it bother you if someone is interested in their feedback score?

Because it's immature and pathetic. If the people moaning about it were minors I could understand it as that's the kind of thing that kids thrive on, but grown adults... ??

Grown adults know everyone is entitled to their own opinion and just because someone disagrees with you it doesn't mean you have the right to call them pathetic or immature.

why? because some of the people on here take the attitude that if feedback is left for them then they don't need to respond? There are so many gripes on here about sellers being wary of ebayers with low feedback bidding on their items, most of these people will leave feedback to their seller ASAP in a bid to boost their score and remove them from the "if you have feedback of 5 or less please contact me before bidding" type stuff.

I agree feedback is not compulsory and I'm not altogether fond of "please leave me feedback" type messages in my inbox but if I've had no problem with a buyer then I wouldn't NOT leave feedback just because I knew they wanted it and out of spite.
