VAT on Business Miles

Hi All,

Not sure if anyone can help? I have a company car and have driven approx 11,000 business miles over the past year since Jan and I claim back 18ppm from my company.

However someone has told me that it might be possible to claim the VAT back on the diesel myself as well?

Does anyone know if this is possible?

Anyhelp you can give would be most grateful!

You're company can claim the VAT back on what it pays you but you can not claim any VAT refund

If you pay a mileage allowance to your employees for business journeys made in either their own vehicle or a company car, you can reclaim VAT on the fuel element of those mileage payments.

If you could reclaim then you would need to be VAT registered anyway
