    My guess would be that you are starting each year on a cumulative code you are then getting a revalueing of your health cover and as a result the tax office is putting your code down so they apply it on a month 1 basis to avoid a big tax jump in the first month that it is applied. Your bonus tax overpayment may well be enough to correct this possibly more than enough so may be worth contacting the tax office to see about a cumulative code.
