hi i did the focus ymca course thriought the job centre, its a hands on course and you do a two day exam at the end, i did it in six months hope this helps0

As above poster, my sister comleted the YMCA course, she now holds her own classes in various gyms, & also has clients who visit her at home (she's converted her garage into a gym)
On the other hand, my brother-in-law, was taken on at a local hotel in their pool area, & they paid for all his courses etc & is now one of the team leaders. Although appreciate this probably wouldn't be the best option for your partner!

I don't mean to be negative but unless you live in a very affluent area, he's unlikely to be able to make anything like the type of money that he makes in construction. That's not a reason for not doing it but it needs to be an informed choice.0

Understand what you're getting at, but it depends how good he becomes at it.... all the stars have personal trainers!

It's not constant physical excercise though. My sister has consultations with clients which involves writing them meal plans & organising their excercise routines, as well as teaching classes in between. So although she may be at work for that amount of time, or 'do' 8 hours in a day, she will not be teaching classes for the entire day.

You wont be doing it your client will!!My brother has been training himself and others, for no reward, all his adult life, weights, boxing, rugby etc.,he always says he is still learning now,how someone who becomes a trainer after a few months on a course makes me wonder if i would want to pay them £20 an hour to train me!!Nice work if you can get it.Jet wrote:But how many hours can your body manage to work?
You can't be expected to do 8 hours hard physical exercise a day without seriously damaging your body.
Something to think about.

Thanks for your advice guys.
I did look at the pay some places were only offering basic £11k and others were starting at £25k, he would need to be earning around the £25k plus or just continue it as a hobby and do it in he spare time, maybe??
