Sony DSC TX 10 and BigNorman

Has anyone shopped from BigNorman.
I purchased a Sony Dsc Tx10 camera from the website BigNoman, the product arrived with an unsealed box and a serial/barcode label missing/ripped off from the box. Inside, the camera has its Serial/Details label ripped off from the base of the camera.???The glue is there, Why??
I emailed them about it, they said they have to opened the box to check that nothing is missing to stop customers claiming missing items?? but no explanation of the Serial numbers label taken out.
What should I do? sent it back for a refund? ...it is a Christmas present....help!

I'd definitely get it returned as it has clearly been tampered with.
You couldn't get Sony to repair it if it was to go faulty with the missing serial, nor could you register it with Sony if you wanted to.
Sounds like someone has ripped off the details to claim a cashback with the details of your camera.
BTW... first time I've heard of a retalier opening the boxes to make sure all the bits were there !! In fact, most reputable retailers would ask you to make sure it's sealed to make sure it HASN'T been tampered with in any way.0 -
Thank you Cocoa,
I agreed with all you said, and I think BIgNorman is not a reputable retailer. Please all beware!, I don't think I can trust them to refund me,
and I was advised to count my losses and not to return it as It will be a lots of hassle. I am annoyed of the retailer's dishonesty, I want to return it
but then the stress...., if anyone reading this decided not to buy from them....I will be pleased.0 -
Used them several times with no problem. They are an amazon seller.
Per their FAQ they do open the boxes to check for missing items.
I would contact them again and press for an explanation on your query.

The serial numbers won't be much use to you, because Sony would see that the camera is not a UK/European model and would offer you no warranty service anyway. That may be why they have removed them (or otherwise to redeem a cashback).
Any warranty would be with BigNorman,
