Hi
My sister turns 40 this Christmas and i have decided to buy her 40 fabulous gifts! I want to spoil her as she always puts her kids amd husband first so ideally they would all be gift she couldn't share! She loves baking, gardening, walking and crafting!
I live abroad and dont get to see my family as often as i would like and wont make ot back for her birthday so would like to make it very special!
Any ideas would be very gratefully recieved!

How about some really nice smellies or some craft bits!! A grow your own kit? A nice photo of the two of you? Sorry can't really think right now0
-
Also how about a nicely typed/written list of 40 reasons why you love her - or 40 happy childhood memories?
Also won't it be very expensive to post a very heavy parcel?
40 pics of her with nice comments written underneath?
Also one thing I did for sisters Ruby Anniv. was to set up a blog (with some wedding pics) with blogger (free) and get all her friends/family to leave messages.Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
What about some really nice sheets of 12" by 12" card/paper? As a crafter myself, I love it when people get me bits like that.0

I have a whole list of ideas on my blog - I'm doing a 30 day gift guide. There might be something useful there?

what about some mini/travel sized pampering products? eg. mini perfumes, some mini bath/shower products, make up, facial products. you can do that same for t if she likes drinking t - make up a little bundle of individually wrapped t bags in all kinds of different flavours and put them in a sweet lil organza pouch.
a gift voucher to the local salon to get her hair/nails done or getting a mobile therapist to come out to her?
what about giving her a voucher for your time? eg. when you are over offering to baby sit for an hour/evening/whatever or to do a house hold chore that she hates for the day etc. something like that.
there are lots of mix and match crafting bits on ebay (when i used to go hobby craft they were so freakin' expensive so avoid there unless the prices have dropped haha) that you could bundle up for her from paper to card to embellishments to stickers etc.
what about a crafting magazine subscription?
i know this is a bit chavvy (haha getta loada me making out i'm posh haha) but b & m do box sets (well in our local one anyway) of like a hot water bottle and a mug with some hot chocolate in (not sure what the hot chocolate is like but you could always replace it with a more well known brand of course) and the sets are only like £4.99.
what about arranging with her other half to take some pictures of the kids and you getting it made into a canvas or framed for her?
if she likes walking then what about some cute little hand warmers? you know the kind you keep in your pocket and they keep your hand snuggly warm? is there any local attractions she particularly likes that you could buy a subscription for the year for?
how about paying for her to attend a baking class? i've seen numerous offers on groupon for things like that.
there is also cute little things like for eg. buying her a piece of the moon/naming a star after her/adopting an animal in her name/having a flower named after her.
a nice bottle of wine and some yummy scrummy chocolates.
does she enjoy reading? you could always pick her up some books? there are lots of good offers on books in places like tescos and of course online.
how about making her a scrap book? include lots of memories and scan pictures and include them also. if you are no good at scrapping then why not use a site like etsy and ask if anybody on their would be willing to give you a quote for doing it for you? i know it's not as personal but it will be your words and the photos you want included in it.
does she wear jewellery? could you maybe get her a ring or a bracelet and have a special message written on to it?
i hope you manage to sort out what you want, i'd love to hear anupdate of what you actually choose to go with!£254/£12,000 challenge... Only £11,746 to go! Wish me luck!0 -

Thanks Mummymummy! Fab ideas there.
Going to try and make a list today and then if I get it all together by 30th December our Christmas visitors can take it back to UK for me and then I can get my mum to deliver for us, therefore cutting out postage charges and giving me more to spend on the pressies!
Will let you know what i go with!
Thanks again x0 -
