Do you have a local butcher? I find that the meat is far superior but if not, in my opinion Asda silverside is currently half price at £4.44 a kilo and it is lovely.
Morrisons, I have tried their meat once but to be honest it was extremely ropey but I think it all depends on the branch.
Tesco, Beef joints are ok but not really nice enough for christmas lunch.
Sainsburys, again ok but nothing special.I’m a Senior Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Competitions Time, Shopping & Freebies boards, Employment, Jobseeking & Training boards If you need any help on these boards, do let me know. round here butchers dont have shops particularly, they tend to be linked to one of two local markets, they are expensive but have a good reputation, we have always gone to whichever supermarket was closest but christmas day is something differentWho remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?0

Morrisons meat is just lovely, mouth watering at the thought of it. Better than an independent butchers by far.
Sainsburys - Taste the difference is very nice, normal is ok.
Tesco - hit and miss, sometimes ok, sometimes not.
Asda - rank. fatty, no flavour. Never, never buy meat from asda. How on earth they have won meat retailer of the year is beyond me.Clean credit file:12 mthsCar loan: FREE! :jTHE PLAN: 1.Pay off debt £8808.42(£3254.45, £1570.32, £2698.33, £0:dance:, £1000, £285.32) 2.Save monthly for Christmas/insurance etc £150 per month 3.Save for emergencies /£1500 4.Save for our B&B £????depends which one takes our fancy0 -

If you have a Waitrose near you, they are much the best.0

Morrisons get my vote, unless you have a Lidl?0

waitrose is a southern thing, our nearest one is about 40 miles away in cheshire
lidl about half an hour away, doable if worth it, do they have lots of the same stuff as lidl in germany?Who remembers when X Factor was just Roman suncream?0 -
Personally I would not trust Lidl for meat, some stuff is great, but I would not buy meat there, don't like the look.
I don't know about Germany in particular, but Lidl sell the same stuff in different countries (although I doubt they sell baked beans in their Italian stores).
If you want to know where they sell something your best bet is to look at the language on the packet.0 -
I really like Lidl meat, it is all British, their bacon is from suffolk, I find it really hard to source british bacon. Even their prepacked hams have no added water, it is far superior to any of the suppermarkets, but probably not quite as good as a butcher. There is nothing either good or bad but thinking makes it so.0
