LOL! I would love to get my OH a class in removing and replacing a radiator. We have a radiator in the hall that spent 2 years in a box and now 3 years on the wall but not connected to the pipes (which are just under the floor!)
However I know he knows "how to do it" he just needs to get a "roundtuit":j I love bargains:jI love MSE0 -
Ive just called them and got the discount code you need to get them half price - will post on the codes thread and link here in a minute.:A0

Stupidly our local store don't do them, otherwise I'd have hubby booked to do them all!A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... In the past few weeks I've done both the wall tiling and skimming courses and would thoroughly recommend them. At the Coatbridge store all classes are currently free but you have to phone up to book to get them for nothing (I booked and paid online but got my money back on a giftcard when I arrived). Even at £20 for 4 hours hands-on tuition I think it's a bargain. :TIf I hadn't seen such riches, I could live with being poor...0

this is a great idea and I'd be tempted to learn a new skill like that myself.
We live in quite an old house so you have to know "stuff" just to survive!
Although, I have to say that Youtube is invaluable at times. You can find out how to do pretty much anything... i've just changed our "new radiators" to the old "school" type radiators (we live in a house that's 150 years old so it's really inkeeping.
Just turn off both valves... open the bleed... unscrew (ensuring you use 2 adjustable spenners to counteract the pressure on the pipe) and take the rad off.... then whack on the new rad... turn on valves with bleed open... close bleed when you see water.
That's what I did... not saying it's right though.Hating Hastings Direct!0 -
They don't do them at my local store unfortunately. I'd like to do most of the courses, except the plumbing ones maybe, being married to a plumber and all, but when I have to do stuff, I just tend to make it up as I go along using large quantities of logic and life experience! I'd love to know if I'm doing it properly and if not, how to do it right! I shall bookmark the page and check it periodically to see if the roll it out to us.
