Will xmas affect a DEO? I waill apologise now for being a bit dumb lol but im wondering what happens. My ex will finish work, say next week for two weeks. What happens with my payments? will i get them as normal, will they been double or will i not get one? I receive them weekly at the min x
The feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

A DEO is taken at source by the employer. Therefore if the employer pays your ex in advance for the 2 week Christmas break (assuming they are entitled to be paid for it), they will have to deduct the child maintenance before handing over the wage to your ex. Just not sure when it gets to you though as it's probably done through banking system.:hello:On mortgage pay off countdown. Less than 8 years to go. :j Won £50 Amazon voucher for filling in a survey, £100 shopping voucher, £20 Odeon voucher, £20 bowling voucher :T Doing a £2 terramundi jar challenge but everyone else seems to have the same challenge as there don't seem to be many £2 coins around!:p0

If payment is paid in advance in wages, then it is paid as that weeks wages, if however, his pay day is brought forward then it would still be a separate week.
So if he got 2 weeks wages in one wage slip they would only take 1 weeks money, and then there would be arrears which would be made up the following weeks by deductions unto his protected income.
I know this doesn't help, but as many on here have said before, do NOT rely on CSA money, it is not guaranteed and if you stretch to include that in your needs, then when it stops you will struggle....0 -
cheers. i dont use it in my budget, it now goes into a 90 day account, was just curious. The csa have been brilliant with me tbh. payments ran smoothly till ex had a hol, now he is catching up. I dont care if i dont get the money as long as they take it off him!!!!!!!!! (we are not on good terms and he conned me out of about 30k) xThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!

No problem, i know this from being on the other side and being paid weekly, and as an NRP, i knew this would happen, so just adjusted my wages so i would not be short the following week. The money still got taken if it took a couple of weeks to catch up, as they have to leave the NRP with a set amount, but not nice if you are the PWC i know.. But that is how there system works...0

It's rare for an employer to send in a weekly DEO, but I would guess they will deduct from him in the same week when they give him his holiday pay.0

Ah, think im finally getting the gist of it now!!! If he say, has a week off sick, and cant pay, for the next few weeks they will pay me as usual, but his employers will take say an extra tenner untill he can pay what he missed? I know its rare, they told me that the other week. it complicates things they said cos if a payment is missing on the monthly system, the can chase it up, but on weekly, they have to wait untill after the 19th to action anything!! OOH, will see what happens on tuesday. If money goes in or not. Next week i will have to allow for bank hold etc which will delay things. didn't mean to sound harsh etc saying i dont care if i receive the money but some men do need the kick up the bum. He was paying 40 a week for both kids, that dwindled to 20 after about 3 months and i was still happy with that. then it stopped. My hubby went on and on to make a claim as we were really in a pickle and me ex was swanning around florida with his ex (b4 me!) wife and their son!! So i did, and 12 weeks later, bang £100 a week in my bank. I have used it for a yr to get us back on our feet, kitted kids rooms out etc. Now its being saved for anything they may need, school trips, treats etc. But hand on heart i'd much prefer to have kept things civil and not have had to move 300 miles away!!! But thats how the cookie crumbles xThe feeling i got when i confirmed my place studying criminology at Exeter Uni was brilliant!!!!!
