Thursday 15th December - What small DFW things will you do today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Morning all,

We are nearly there everyone! Almost the weekend, it can't come quick enough for me!

Hope you are all ok wherever you may be, I hear there is snow in some parts of the Country, unfortunately where I am it's just horrifically windy & cold & wet & generally pretty miserable :(

I'm getting the other half of my brace today - top teeth this time, I've coped pretty well with the bottom so fingers crossed I'm on solid food in no time & more importantly, can talk properly! Don't want to go to work tomorrow & sound all weird!!

Today's plan:-

  • [STRIKE]Brekkie from stores[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Free lunch at work as I am on a training course all day[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Make use of free water at work[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Charge phone at work[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Stay in for my lunchbreak to avoid spending[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Check for surveys[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Enter comps[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Check online banking[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Check out this weeks flylady thread[/STRIKE] & do something, made some great progress yesterday in finally sorting out the floor of the study :D
  • [STRIKE]Try & keep the heating on low[/STRIKE]
  • Use free washing up liquid
  • [STRIKE]Dinner from meal plan[/STRIKE]
  • [STRIKE]Get my OH to take package to local Collect+ place[/STRIKE]
  • Write email of complaint to the company who did the course at the weekend
  • [STRIKE]Wrap some more presents if there's time with paper bought in last year's sales[/STRIKE]
  • Cancel Amazon Prime before I forget!
Have a great, MSE day everyone x

  • Morning perni  thanks for starting us off and good luck with the brace!

Not too bad here weather wise, it has been cold the last few days, but that's about it!

Sadly my heated towel dryer hasn't proved to be the miracle I had hoped for :rotfl: clothes not completely dry and still had to put the heating on for 10mins....

    Today:
    • check banking x2
    • checked cc1  (have all the money stashed away in savings to transfer but still!)
    • brekkie, lunch from stores
    • going to friend's after work, so free food
    • mince out of freezer for oh & ds
    • NSD?
    • take note of mileage & update expenses form
    • call British Gas and get them to explain the 6 different bills they have sent me - can't make head nor tail of it!!!

ok think that's it for me! Happy Thursday y'all x

    Morning all!

I've noticed a few, only one name I can think of though. Hopefully they will get bored soon lol

Today I am feeling sorry for myself :( Woke up feeling a bit off balance today, kinda falling to the right. Walked out of the bathroom and Im not sure how it happened, but I walked smack into the edge of the door :( Got a lump on my forehead, managed to not break my nose, forehead took the full impact.

So, apart from feeling sorry for myself, I will be -

    Charging my phone at work
Getting DH to cancel his bloody gym subscription!!!! I swear if he doesn't do it today I might harm him tonight!
Boss will be buying lunch today, her turn!
Have found a giftset in my wardrobe that I will be re-gifting to SIL, saving myself £10-£15 :j
Will check ebay, see if any more feedback has been left so I can access the money!
Not sure about dinner yet, going to the pantomime tonight, only have about 20 mins from getting in from work to going back out. Hmmmm

Have a good day guys x
Can't think of anything smart to put here...

    Good Morning all
thanks perni for starting us off.
Aaaaaah missed a payment on the bank account so we went £16 od not sure what we will get charged now for that going to take DHs card away as he never told me about it. Also he was meant to have been paid expenses but for some strange reason he has been getting them paid into his account then he transfers the money over not sure weather to check what he has been paid as I know he is not happy about getting very little cash at the mo but we are skint and its about time he grow up he does not need to be playing computer games etc he had been keeping cash before that he was getting petrol from his nan for driving her around yet pays for petrol from our account.

Dinner from stores freeze rest of mince for quick dinner next week.
Think thats it as was working till 12 last night and brain is clogged with work stuff !

  • Hi all,
This is what I have done / will do today:

    -Check Topcashback for payments
-Check credit card online to see how I'm doing
-Try not to use fan heater during the day - instead use fingerless gloves, blanket and hot water bottles
-Check Christmas presents already bought and ensure I have bought everything. If not, use Boots points / Nectar points or Tesco vouchers to get anything outstanding
  • I must be rubbish because I've not noticed any troll activity. Maybe I'm not looking close enough.
Busy today - have my form class in all day.
    This morning I have
    done breakfast/lunch/dinner from stores
    washing on airer to dry

    I will also
    post ebay parcels
    check bank balance
    chase up on childcare vouchers
    not go to the shops

Can't think of anything much else at the moment but I'll be back later.
    Have a good day all
