Can anyone suggest any detox kits or plans?
I want to kick start the diet as soon as Christmas is over. I have 3 stone ish to loose for my wedding in 2013 and I want to start asap! I'm going to rejoin Slimming World but fancy a go at detoxing first.

See my thread about Diatomaceous Earth for weight loss, detoxing, and getting rid of cravings and hunger pangs:

There are loads and loads of other things you can read about on the Internet that people use to detox if you don't fancy the DE. Psylium husks, bentonite clay, juice fasting, salt water flush, etc. I've been researching them with interest, but can only comment on the Diatomaceous Earth at the moment, as it's the only one I've yet tried out personally - apart from colonic irrigation. I've also tried that, years ago, but it didn't do much for me personally, though other people report good results.

Thanks both.
bedpotato - DE is not for me, but thanks for the interesting read.
honey06 - I've detoxed before and it worked for me. It's to kick start my body into diet mode and help give me better skin. I pnly did it for 7 days last time and lost 7lbs before going onto a sensible diet. Just can't remember what plan I followed.Fantastic Expectations Amazing Revelations0 -
I second the DE or even clay (think it's benotite but check!). Clay is really easy to drink, you start off just mixing it into a glass of water and waiting half hour for most to settle at the bottom and just drink the water not the sludge. You could also use natural fiber supplements and virgin apple cider vinegar (has to be with the "mother" to do you any good- i like ostlers brand from amazon).
Whilst i get the whole "detoxing is a scam" thing, I do like it and have done some DIY ones in the past. After a week of excess like at christmas, drinking fresh vegetable juices/smoothies does leave you feeling really good and refreshed. It can also get you into the habit of having more fresh fruit and veg or daily juices/smoothies. Drinking a daily smoothie of 2-3 pieces of fresh fruit and veg is only going to be good for you!
Most standard detox plans are very faddy. I would suggest something which involves a fiber supp to "unclog" you, milk of magnesia for your liver, fish oil and fresh fruit and vegetable juices and smoothies. Maybe juice and smoothies only for a few days, then reintroduce plain yogurt, cooked vegetables, meat and fish. If you stick to it, it helps to reset bad habits like snacking and bad food choices.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0
