Brown linseed v golden linseed (Ted??)

I take 3 tablespoons (ground, in water) of linseeds every day, which does wonders for my digestion and bowel problems. I have Ulcerative Colitis,as well as IBS, and with my maintenance drugs, this regime keeps me free from symptoms.
Up until now I have always used golden linseeds, but as Julian Graves has a BOGOF at the moment, I bought their dark brown linseeds, which the shop assistant assured me are no different from the golden product. Is this true? Are they just a different variety? Do they have the same beneficial qualities?
All comments welcome, but I bet Ted knows the answer to this one!;)

I always use the cheapest which is Suma Brown Linseed (non-organic)£5.50ish a 5kg bag. But I also get a supply for the hens from a local farmer and have been known to grind some of theirs when I run out of the Suma linseed. My weight loss following Doktor Dahlqvist' Dietary Program

Thanks Ted:T Not a lot of difference then.
I was going to ring SUMA to find my local stockist, when I saw the Julian Graves offer, and shall certainly follow that up when I've exhausted my current supply.
