Working abroad + Certificate of Residence

Hello there,
I'm heading to teach in South Korea in February last year. I was advised by my recruiter to get a Certificate of Residence from the UK, as with it, I can earn for 2 years in Korea tax free.
I don't really know what a Certificate of Residence is, nor can see how I can avoid paying tax in BOTH countries for two years. Does anyone know if this is right?
If it is legit, how can I obtain one? Through the tax office? I just called and completely failed to navigate the menus (what does this query relate to?) and I don't really understand it enough!
Many thanks for your help,
Keir

There's this new fangled thingy called Google, give it a try some time
. Actually, it wasn't totally straightforward so I'll let you off this time, the HMRC page in the Google results had moved so I had to do a search within the HMRC site to find this:

Thank you - I did a couple of Googles but didn't ever get to anything useful!
Many thanks. Hopefully it won't take too long.0
