Defaults on credit reports - a success story

Hi all
I've been getting some great advice of this website and the forum after finding out I had a default on my credit report which was preventing my girlfriend and I getting a mortgage. I have just had confirmation that the default (which was for a small amount and was settled) has been removed and we are going to be able to go forward with our mortgage application without having to re-do credit checks etc. What is more, it only took one letter and a few phonecalls (quite a few actually!) and has been resolved in less than a week.
I think I have got very lucky with this, but I just wanted to share this so that other people in my situation realise that these things can be resolved and that persistance pays off!

Hiya,
Who did you contact to get this default removed,please?0 -
I contacted the lender - it is them you need to speak to rather than the credit reference agencies. The general advice seems to be to do so by letter which I did to start with, however as I needed something doing very quickly I made lots of phonecalls until I got through to people that could do something.0
