Wanting To Invest in Shares

Hi,

Im wanting to increase my income by a little, I have some spare money on the side i wanted to ask if someone give me some advice about buying and selling shares or useful links which might help.

I initially want to only invest a small amount to get a feel of what im getting myself in for and.

All advice tips are welcome (novice over here:j)

My main piece of advice would be you'd probably be better posting in the savings & investments forum.

The only thing I would say is are you aware of the trading charges (£10+) so the 'small amount' can only be so small.

Also you want to 'increase your income' , have you thought what you mean by this as, unless you are intending to invest in a company with a reliable cashflow (and reliable dividends) you could obviously lose the money invested.
