E:28/2 Lloyds tsb- save the change and comping

I don't know if any of you have a Lloyds TSB account and have signed up to the save the change promotion? (Details listed on a few other boards)

I have signed up and decided to use it to help me comp. My local papers cost 40p and 41p respectively. If I purchase them individually using my debit card, I will get back 60p and 59p for each purchase from Lloyds. This means that for February and March these papers are not only free, but I also get a profit :D

I am going to buy these papers all through March and Feb and see if I can win from them. I hand in the entries when I am shopping, so no cost there either. I am also looking for verycheap packs of envelopes to do the same. For postcard compers, the stamps (if bought indiviually) and/ or postcard comps could also be free in the same way.

Another mini challenge?

I have had a look at this, and although the wording is very confusing, I don't think they are actually giving you anything, just transferring the rounded up amounts from your current account to a savings one.

A huge thank you to all who post the comps and deals that make life so much fun!

They give you something for two months. The amount is rounded up and debited form your current account to the nearest £. The amount due to the retailer goes to the them and the remainder or 'change' goes into your savings account. In Feb and march they match the amount you have saved up to £50 each month. So on my 40 p newspaper they take £1 out of my account, 40p goes to the shop where I bought it, 60p into my savings account. They will match up to £50 in a month this way.

The only hitches are: the match just lasts two months and they tax the money so if you are a tax payer you get £40 instead of £50 each month.

I am hoping to sav another £80 towards my France trip this way. I am then hoping to get cheap fares down from Scotland to Portsmouth out of the money.
