Car valued between £2,200 and £2,700?

Good luck to all going through this nightmare.
I may have to consider this too, but am worried as my car (according to Parkers used car guide) is valued between £2,200 private up to £2,800 max from a dealer. I really don't want to lose my car, despite the insurance and petrol costing so much.
Who decides this?
Thank you.

To keep your vehicle, you would first have to prove a NEED for it and then if you did, the current guidline value for exempt vehicles is around £1000.

Are there any exceptions to the £1000 limit as I really think I'm going to have to do the bankruptcy route but need to keep the car

Mine was worth about £1.5-£2k at the time of the interview BUT I need it to run my small business. OR had no problem with this and wrote to me soon after saying he wasn't interested in it. There was no question of changing down to a smaller car. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
