I would point out thought that the £35 could be going towards your debt rather than in G.P.'s pocket.
do you like payplan? how long have you been with them?0 -
Yes, Payplan have saved my sanity! I have been with them since September and do far all has gone well. All my creditors have frozen intest and charges. Payplan also set me up a home emergency / boiler cover plan for £15 a month, life insurance for my debts for £7 month and redundancy cover for my debts of £4 a month. Or somewhere around those figures - without getting the paperwork out I cannot be exact but they are order to within a couple of pound. It took me only three weeks to set up my DMP aswell.LBM August 2011. DFD somewhere post [STRIKE]2025[/STRIKE]2022

Hi Vicky,
I have been with payplan since Sept 06 and am due to finish next year. I have nothing but praise for them, whilst they aren't always easy to get in contact with on the phone (due to being so busy) you can email them and they call you back. They have always been very fair and I urge you to give them a call. Why pay £35 a month - £420 a year to someone else when they will do it for free?
Creditors are also more likely to accept DMP's from Payplan/CCCS as they do not charge and it means your Creditors are getting the full payment. They have never forced me to commit to increase that I cannot manage and have always been sympathetic and understanding. The best bit was at the beginning, if I got phone calls from my creditors, I told them I was with Payplan and gave them my ID number and they never bothered me again.

You never never never need to pay for another company to sort out a DMP, when you can get it for free.
Honestly, as soon as the New Year is here, if that's when you want to leave it till, contact one of the charities mentioned above (CCCS / Payplan) and get it all sorted through them. Think of the extra £420 a month going towards your debt, which will be worth even more than £420 if you're paying interest on any of your debts as well.
I would say do it sooner rather than later, especially as I would imagine CCCS etc are busy in January with people having New Years resolutions to sort out their debts. You are definitely in the right place here though!!Half of November Make £10 a Day Challenge: £51/ £1700 -
I quite often sit here and think these people who are trying to get out of debt, I feel so sorry for them and I really hope they make it.
If you take a look at Vicky posts alone today, you will see she is determined just to get into further debt by applying for store cards and credit cards and what seems like some sort of payday advance loan.
In a DMP if she is to be believed and yet still wants more debt.
Sorry but I have no sympathy with this particular poster. In a way I hope she is a troll, because she is quite frankly wasting everybodys time here.0 -

I suspect it's more that she hasn't actually had her light-bulb moment yet.
If you look at MY posting history, you'll see that I first posted in 2008, then again in 2010 but it's taken us until Now, Dec 2011 to have our light-bulb moment. Our LBM: Dec 2011. DMP started: Jan 2012. Debt at LBM: £41,568
Oct 2012 = Current debt: £40,548.93

Hi Vicky,
The best bit was at the beginning, if I got phone calls from my creditors, I told them I was with Payplan and gave them my ID number and they never bothered me again.
Relief wasn't the word when i called up Payplan! Slept soundly for the first time in ages. It was like a huge huge weight had been lifted just by calling them up and taking some positive action towards sorting out my mess.
Agree it can be a bit of a nightmare if you have to call them, but i only had to do that in the beginning.
Everything is simpler now - Payplan take their money from me and that's it. They pay everyone and all i have to worry about it making sure that money is in the bank every month. Fab.DFW Long Hauler 292 / Sealed Pot Challenge Member #1452
