Tere is one in my garage, or here http://www.pitchwell.com/Shop/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=26

or here, I think Selkin are the manufacturer http://www.selkin.co.uk/site/site/home/home.asp?c=32&t=sc&i=20

QVC sell them from time to time.
That gum you like is coming back in style.
  • I got mine from ebay, but I wouldn't recommend buying one to be honest.

I got mine from ebay too back in the Summer for a couple of quid. Well, my Mum got it for me for my birthday and I told her not to buy it at the TV price sowe tracked one down on ebay. Beware as sometimes they're not listed as washmatic, I think I tried several different search terms to find mine.

I have found it to be a good little gadget - it works just as it's shown on the TV however it does take a bit of practice and playing around to get used to it, etc, at first you do think it's not going to work!

We played about with it in the back garden on the windows (...and got soaked in the process) but we mastered it well, enough to give me confidence to use it on my car! It cleaned it well, and then I even buffed it with some car polish!

I would recommend one, but don't pay the TV prices - it's unecessary.
  • I think its the worst thing I have I ever used ...you have to stand like a plonker with a bucket over your head.I got it at full price on QVC.more fool me.:D

When will I learn to stop buying this Cr*P:)

Can anyone give me any tips, on how to use it to wash my car as the water takes ages to come out, and only works if I put the bucket on top of the car.
Where is Narnia and how do I get there? That wardrobe salesman lied to me:rotfl:

That was the tip for using it but be careful.

I ended up tipping the full bucket of hot soapy water all over me as it slipped off the roof as I moved around the car. It was on a soft cotton towel and as it fell I went to grab it, and got soaked. Amused the wife and neighbours though !!!

Never been used since waste of time, back to the hose pipe for me. Luckily mine was a tenner of eBay.
    Cheers

  • I got the full washmatic kit from ebay 19.99 +p&p. Tried it out on the car today and it worked first time, as long as you follow the instructions, it works well. Remember it's an up and down motion that makes it work with the bucket on the floor, not the syphon system with the raised bucket as when rinsing.
It gets a thumbs up from me for daily use on a minibus :T
  • I've been using my washmatic for about 10 years - and I love it as Mr Ebeneezer states - READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!! It is not a gravity fed it uses the back-forward motion of the brush to work. Fill the bucket, move the valve end up and down in the bucket in a stabbing motion until the water has got about 2-3feet up the pipe, then clip the pipe to the bucket (the bucket stays on the floor - ignore the jokers above), next lay the hose down so the water that is in the pipe runs to the end and out the brush. Next shake the brush up and down along the same line as the hose i.e. back and forwards in the same direction as the hose joining the handle and you'll be good to go. The faster you move the brush the more the water comes through. I can't wash a car without it - the single best tool I've ever bought even if it is running out of bristles and no I don't work for them or anything like that.
