I get the value long life skimmed milk and it copes better out of the fridge than the fresh milk. you might be surprised at how well it lasts. any form of insulation of cold products is worth while - wrapping things in newspaper helps to keep them cool if they start out cool.

you can have things like stir fry and egg fried rice by using ingredients that dont need to be kept in the fridge

We have this when we go camping.
    Anything dried is good.
You can buy long life yoghurts which dont need refridgerating.
If you dont mind skimmed milk it will last longer as its the cream that goes off.
You can wrap meat in a clean wet cloth and keep wetting it as it dries out.It will keep cooler that way(Think how cold you get sitting around in a wet swimming costume).
    Buy tinned things.

    Thanks for all your ideas.

Need what my gran had which is a food safe.

It is kept in a cupboard and is a little cupboard with mesh on front of the doors. And she use to put things like left over mash potatoes and steamed veg in it.

And she is what 83 now so never hurt her.
