Cavity Wall and Roof Insulation

Options
Hello everyone

Does anyone know of any grants available to help small business with cavity wall insulation and roof insulation. I have been trawling the net and all the companies I have spoken to (even though they advertise this) say there is no grants.

Can anyone help ?

Regards
Andi

Apart from making more profit, why does your business want to have additional insulation? There are some sectors which do occassionally get grants (a few years ago further education got some), but unless there is some feature of your business which appears to justify tax money supporting it, I can't see that there would be an subsidy around.

  • I have been trading for just over a year and have been made aware just recently that there is no cavity wall insulation and the roof insulation is poor and as with rising costs for energy prices I am looking at any way possible to reduce running costs at such an early stage of the business as for making a profit i'm lucky if there's any money left at the end of the month to even pay myself. I have looked into a loan or an overdraft from the bank to help but as I have not been trading for a minimum of 3 years they won't even consider it. I have used all my resorces in setting up the business so money is very tight.

I sympathise; the economy needs entrepreneurs such as yourself, and I know things are tough particularly at the moment.

Ultimately though the taxpayer would see grant funding for small businesses as a handout which would ultimately end up in your pocket, and whilst it is likely to be economically sensible to insulate your business property the payback period is likely to be quite long so not an appealing prospect to a lender, whether that be a government fund or a bank.

Perhaps try the local chamber of commerce, or other local business groups, to see if there is anything in your area?

    Good luck!
