emove and other internet based estate agents

I can't make an op on the house buying branch at the moment for some bizzare reason.

I want to sell my house in suburban Manchester and note that emove offer £299 as a one off fee as opposed to 1% or whatever it is with an estate agent. The house value is about 110k-120k

Any advice / comment about internet based estate agents? I'd have thought that as long as it's on Rightmove and Zoopla then it's worth taking the risk of a relatively small upfront payment. Exposure may be slightly less but nowadays surely Rightmove is the mechanism for selling most houses?

  • well i would stick to local agent i have tried emove uk and there service was so poor.

The women in charge never pick up the phone and is so un helpfull
Beth thats her name also has a foul mouth. This is the trouble with these types of on line sites you never know who is behind the glossy attractive home page. She gave me the sales talk and the patter on the phone. i agreed they took so long to send some one round to take pictures.
the pictures they took where so bad that i had to ask them to come back around and take some more. Then to be told by emove uk that sorry if i did not like them take some pictures myself and send them in to them. The company emoveuk.com is a joke and the women who runs the company is also a joke so stay away from this company avoid it like the plague :money::money::money::money::money:

If the price you put the property up for sale out is appropriate and it is on Rightmove, you will sell it - my opinion.

Not one for loving estate agents and if there was any other way around using them, I personally would be at the front of a very long queue.

Locally for me, Rightmove is king and I have had clients that have used "urban sales and lettings" and whilst the service is not perfect. They get you on Rightmove, forward you the numbers and names promptly for anyone interested and you ultimately manage from there. You take your own photos and need to be comfortable in what you are doing. A good broker or solicitor can hold your hand through the process a bit...

Hopefully Rightmove wont be as powerful in the future, but as we currently stand pay what you need to, to get yourself on there and price reasonably to sell.

    Good luck

I dont blame you not being happy paying 1% for them to do something you can get for £200-300.

But some things are worth just paying for, its peace of mind and takes away a lot of the stress and more importantly a face to face contact - thats my opinion anyway.

I used an estate agent to sell my house not long ago (near stockport), i managed to make a deal with them to sell it for a set fee, rather than a percentage. There wasnt a huge difference in the price i negotiated with them, but its worth playing one off against another to get the price down before you agree any deal.

Im not sure where you live in manchester but there are no shortage of estate agents.
