Help with dealing with agents and job offers

Hi,
I hope someone can give me some help. I have been waiting to hear about a possible job for a week now through one agent but I have no definate date they want me to start and feel I am being fobbed off a bit. I have just revieved another offer for a job and want to take this as I have a definate start date. I have given the first agent my bank details, Ni no. etc. but not signed a contract. Am I still bound to first the agent even though not signed a contract? To be honest the latest offer is better for me. I am just worried about my personal info I have given out to the agent.
Many thanks

Short answer - no. Take the second job if you want it more. The first employer shouldn't have kept you waiting!0

If you have been given a job offer and have confirmed if in writing then you are legally bound to them via the terms and conditions of it, even without a written contract. If not then normal terms and conditions apply of just 7 days notice.
Or you could just try ringing them and say you have a better job offer. Personal information given to the agent should not be an issue.0
