so how does this work for those buying tellys online...?
  • I've never heard of this before...

...and I work for a supermarket.
  • I think most of the electrical managers go home at 8 (they do in my local) so a BS excuse because they couldn't be @rsed to get you one from out the back...
  • Good grief-I had no idea that I was harbouring a fugitive!
The other half bought 2 televisions from Tesco for the kids Christmas presents last week.......at about 8.45pm.

If he gives himself up now, will he just get a fine or is it inevitable that he will spend Xmas in gaol? ;)
  • OMG I bought mine after 8pm from Asda... I feel kind of dirty watching it now!
    1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
    10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
    50p: Christmas presents £3.50
    £2: holidays £2.00
  • I had the same thing when I went into Tesco one night to buy a laptop.

I returned, stroppily, the next morning and told the staff my saga. They asked for the details, because there was no such rule in place and I should not have been turned away! They prepared to give someone a good telling off...

Infact tested by someone else for me tonight: guy in front of me in the queue was purchasing some sort of ipod alarm clock or dock or something along with his bread and baked beans. Went through the till no probs. OP, I think you've been 'done' by Tesco!
