it's 50/50... If you're going for an interview for a new job in a new company then yeah there can be a lot of pressure; but is it as pressured if you're being interviewed in your existing job? you know the people interviewing you, they know your capabilities and you have a decent idea of the role. You don't need to research the company or any of the other bits to impress.
Plus, how much does the interview go towards a role in an internal job? if you think the person will be a good match for the job then the interview is just part of the process.

You're completely missing the point. On purpose, I suspect.

This internal interview is the result of a restructure; the clear implication being that people could lose their jobs if they fail to receive one of these new jobs being created.

In that instance, it would be considerably more stressful.

Let's be honest here. Most internal restructure processes are a sham and are done knowing full well who will go and who will stay after them.
  • Make your mind up, I either missed the point or you're agreeing with me.

Plus, she didn't get her interview and lost her position putting her on the dole, if she'd gone for the interview but didn't get a role it'd put her on the dole.
At least by having an interview she's less chance of ending up on the rock 'n' roll.

    Hi,

once again thank you for your help it looks like I have started a debate!

For cetain people may I say everyone is entitled to their views as everyone is an indiviual but a) you do not know my circumstances to why I am depressed b) I never asked for the fit note the doctor gave me it as I was not well c) I still have my original job from the restructure but the job was a promotion that I wanted to apply for d) this is my first time I have had a fit note in my working history e) I have always paid national insurance and tax and i am currently getting no benefits and half pay so I am not taking money off the goverment and f) my employer has told me that they had overlooked that I was off and I should have been sent the information as the policy states and I am having a meeting next week. So if I can attend a meeting next week surely I could have attended an interview?

So certain people think I am having my cake and eating it? If only they knew the facts and understood i do not want to be off work and depression does not mean I cant walk out of the door i have good days and bad.

But as I said everyone has their own opinions I was only asking for some advise as I was confussed and upset.

    Thank you
