My wedding diary I guess!

Me and OH won our wedding basically! Well the majority of it!
I think all we need to buy is:

Bridesmaid dresses
Rings
Favours
The actual venue and ceremony for the wedding
The drinks package for the meal
DJ
My shoes/veil
Whatever flowers go over the £200 budget we have been given in the shop!

I just thought I'd start a diary on here so I have somewhere to vent my excitement :)

I'll say we won this through Win a York Wedding which was to raise funds for McMillan Breast Care.

So far we have:

Ordered my dress. (I could choose any dress I wanted in the shop for free no matter how much it was :) this was one of the most expencive at £1250 aha but I fell in love with it even before we won)
Booked the church (to pay the £50 deposit tomorrow)
Booked the reception venue (Paid the £250 deposit for the DJ and drinks)
Ordered our invites (getting them as 'oversized postcards' from vista print for free :) )
Chosen bridesmaid dresses and just waiting for the sample colour swatch to come from China so we can check its the right colour before ordering them (£50 each for 3 dresses)
Bought my tiara (a proper princess little tiara, very sparkly!)
I have chosen which veil I want, but it all depends on if my dress and the train match up as its a church length veil and if it doesn't match with the dress length it will look silly.
Booked the photography (in with the prize)
Booked the cars (in with the prize)
Been to the florist and explained what we like and are waiting for a price up, and anything over the £200 we will have to pay.
Booked our evening entertainment which is a Elvis impersonator!
Decided almost on the design of cake we want.
Booked the chair covers.

And just about to email about the photo album and guestbook we receive too :)

We also won a nights stay at the Raithwaite Hotel in Whitby along with spa treatments for me and my guest, as well as dinner. Which obviously me and H2B will be going, and it will be for my 21st :)

We also won H2B's suit and his best man's suit too, and we also won a wedding planners package too :)

xx

    Thanks everyone :)

Lol Bubbles :) I thought about having a chemical peel, I'm not sure I could deal with the peeling for a week at work though!

Think I am going to go with the pamper party they are offering as an alternative :)

More things planned: just got back from the church and have paid the deposit... officially getting married there!

Now off to look at wedding rings/bridesmaid dresses on ebay :)
  • wow congratulations on all your winning's and on getting married soon...

I would go for a chemical peel as well lol Be nice!

Sorry, forgot to mention we got engaged last July :) So will be just under a year since we got engaged.

I was just about to start a new wedding diary, but then realised I started one and didn't carry it on. I think weddingy things got sidetracked. Haven't really had much until now.

Turns out the place where I could have had the surgical peel, have gone bankcrupt or something, so they've had to close and take back my prize. But never mind :) I wasn't that fussed about that one, that was just a bonus.

You may have read that a friend from work has kindly offered to make our flowergirl dresses. They are stunning, I will try get a proper picture tomorrow, but this is the baby one:

    6oho94.jpg

Its not finished (hence the ribbon not looking 'right' but it needs taking in etc but thats them almost done :) )

Tomorrow morning we are up early for a bright and breezy day of wedding things! 10:30 we are meeting our friend from work at the fabric shop to pick up the adult bridesmaid fabric and cotton, then we are off to the florist to discuss everything again properly, then maybe will pop to the wedding venue to ask some more questions, then will drop off H2B in town to go pay some cheques in and go book an appointment for the week before the wedding, becauseeeee! MY DRESS IS HERE! :D

Got my appointment at 4, so am taking a strapless bra and my shoes :) Will take lots of photos. I am SO excited. Can't wait to see my actual dress and wear it for the first time.

Hmm what else. Paid the church deposit, have enough money to pay the church off at the moment but waiting until we can pay everything off at once.

Invites are out and we've heard back from all my family. They are all coming, bar one set of aunts/uncles, and a cousin. I'm guessing its because my uncle is a teacher and we're having a weekday wedding.

Still haven't decided on the cake we want. 3 tiers is about all we know haha.

I think thats about it up to date!

Stay tuned for my update tomorrow night :)

    SO!!! :D

Today has been very productive :)

We went to pick up the bridesmaid fabric, gave it to our friend who's making the dresses, then headed to my grandma's to meet my mum.

Then we went to the florist to confirm what we deffinatly need. I looked at my bouquet again, loved it, was really worried I wouldn't. Asked for crystals in the bouquet rather than pearls, and more white.
Here it is, but it will be adapted to the above:

Then we went into town and my mum had shown me her outfit, and she's bought some ivory shoes. I loved them and tried them on and they were so comfy. I tried to get her to swap but hers match her outfit and bag perfectly so it was understandable. But instead we went to the same shop and I got a similar style in silver. They have red bottoms so look like louboutins :) They ended up matching my dress perfectly. I tried the 7's and 8's, and the 7's were marked but fit perfect. They were £40 but the woman then asked her manager and she knocked 50% off! Its literally just where the sole has been glued on, but no one can see at all! BONUS! :) Haven't got a pic of them yet but will try.

We then went to see the hair and beauty place that are doing my hair. Booked in for a trial the week before the wedding (I think :s ) and found out that my sisters and mums hair are only going to cost £3.50 each as they only want it curling/straighening and its getting done my a trainee!

My little sister had been getting her cut at a different salon whilst we went there and they wanted to see my hair (its the first time they've ever seen it natural ahaha) and I got talking to the trainee there and she reccomended someone to do my extensions for the wedding, so now it could be costing me less than £100! :)

Then we headed over to the bride shop! My OH dissapeared to wander round town whilst we went.

So I got there and she got my dress out all ready, and I picked out a tiara similar to mine to try veils on etc.

She showed me how to get into it properly, tuck the train under when getting ready etc. Then she tied me into it :) She then showed my mum how to tie it up, and we then tried some veils on :) The only thing wrong with the dress is that a bit on the bodice, has come undone, so we need to get it fixed.

I absolutley am over the moon :)

That's todays :) I really do think that being a 'bigger lady' that the dress suits me better than the tiny girl modelling it on the pics.
