Beware - Thorntons - Free delivery when spending over £50

I have just spent £52 online (and yes there are some good 3 for 2 offers at the Thorntons site) but they flag up that there is free delivery when spending over £50. Turns out that it is free just for one address. For the other 8 delivery addresses on my xmas list I had to spend £1.95 per address.
Thorntons reply was:
The free delivery over £50 is only valid for 1 order going to 1 uk address.
The standard delivery is usually £3.95 but you got it at the special offer of £1.95.
All the trumpeting of free delivery does NOT make this clear. I racked up loads in delivery charges and carried on with my purchase only because the chocolates are on offer.
Felt it was a bit sly.

It clearly states the delivery charges on the website:
Standard Delivery is charged at £3.95 per recipient for weekday delivery.
Spend £50 or more and you qualify for free standard delivery to a UK address.

No mention of sending separate items from one order to multiple addresses, I wouldn't have thought they would do this anyways.A home without a dog is like a flower without petals.0 -
I would have expected that TBH. It would cost them too much to send to several different addresses for free just for one order over £50, it wouldn't be as profitable for them, it's pushing it a bit. The terms of the offer are available to check and you didn't have to continue with your purchase if you didn't like them.0

The reason I say this is clear if you go to this linked Thorntons site page
(NOT ALLOWED AS A NEW USER TO PUT THE LINK BUT BELIEVE ME THE PAGE FULL OF OFFERS IS STILL THERE - Just click on the word OFFERS on the green banner on their home page)
This page is what I saw first - there is a poster advert and it only says and I quote "FREE DELIVERY FOR ORDERS OVER £50" - there is no asterix saying subject to blah blah blah ....
Also, it said FREE DELIVERY under my order after I had typed in the order - so because of the link I took 'free delivery' not to mean FREE DELIVERY BUT JUST FOR YOU NOT ANYONE ELSE YOU ARE SENDING IT TO. I did not go to the DELIVERY CHARGES page - why? Because it had said FREE DELIVERY underneath all the items. Yes, I know now. Yes, next time I will read every word on every page of the website. Thanks for the comments but as you can see (SORRY YOU CAN'T AS I AM A NEW USER) from the link it was not clear, period.
Aplogies for typographically shouting but I don't like ads that say one thing but mean another0 -
Thorntons have apologised and are getting someone internal to check the ad out - they don't like to hear of unhappy customers. Good to get a reply.0
