Well done on the budget DBG. A fiver left is good going but I agree it looks like you’ll be needing them for birthday celebrations! I recently passed this milestone myself – are you planning anything special? I went in a hot air balloon with a few friends. Once it finally happened, it was fantastic – well worth the year and a bit wait:eek:. (To get the quotes looking right check you don’t delete the * or whatever it says similar to that at the beginning and end of the quote. If you are not sure, click preview post to check before actually posting).
Thanks Observer, think I've got it down now! Had to change your example to a * though as it messed up me requoting it! Lol
Interesting to hear you're a similar age to me - many on here refer to husbands and children - so I assumed I was one of the youngest! It's been painful getting used to the idea of turning 30, as although I'm aware it's hardly old, I didn't picture myself to be single, childless and broke at this point in my life! However I'm learning to appreciate what I have, and now have a firm handle on my debts, even if they are going to take some time to get rid of...
Yes, I have some nice things planned for my birthday, main thing is going away with my bestest female friends for a couple of nights on a cottage break.Thank goodness I chose a cottage with a woodburner and underfloor heating though! :rotfl: A hot air balloon sounds cool though, maybe I'll do that for my 32nd birthday, to celebrate my debt free status!

None for me, me and the kids havent been out all weekend, its too cold and we want to stay warm. The kids went in the snow in the garden for about 15mins this morning then came back in cos they were too cold.PAD Maker0 -
Happy Sunday everyone.
£2 in the pot for me today, change from buying a paper at Boo#hs last night. Had a little snow yesterday but it has all gone now – I like it to look at, just don’t like having to drive in it! Was slow going on the motorway home yesterday afternoon.
A big welcome to the thread
Welshywoo :hello:
I have added you to the members list on post two. Have a little read of post one, then pop back as often as you can to join in the conversation and motivation of the thread
So joyce63 how did the Euro millions go?!
It's funny how you can get loads of £2 in one go, but then none for weeks. It makes it all the more satisfying when you do finally get one though.
Exactly starhut. All the more worthwhile the effort. And I’m pleased the forums help your motivation “At your service” lol. :rotfl: Oh I’ve also added your new target to the list.
17 loudmouth? Wow. That will hopefully buy you a nice few ‘me’ items. :j
Yippee Dmouse. And more congrats for the NSD. I’m struggling a bit with that though today will DEFINITELY be another….hopefully:o

Hi DBG that worked that time. And you discovered you needed to change the *. Lol oops. I also find it nice to hear that someone else is my age without husband/children etc. I would love a husband but got the finding one bit to get over first . I don’t have any debts to cope with, but equally a few years ago I also had NO savings which did worry me slightly as I had nothing to fall back on. So while you are trying to get rid of the debt, I am trying to save a little so I feel more secure.
Debt free by 32 really isn’t that far away so I wish you the best of luck with that. Also your birthday plans sound fab – I love doing things like that but don’t unfortunately do it much anymore. Hope you have a fantastic time.
Hi mandz1 – do you still have a lot of snow? In your ‘own little bubble’ it should stay with you for ages lol. I recommend the stay inside and warm. Outside is for nice weather.
Have a nice day everyone xx:wave: :snow_laug :snow_grin :snow_laug :snow_grin :wave:Challenge savings 2010-2016 £1564.60:j
