Wedding videos

How much is a reasonable price for a wedding videogragher?

My neice has been quoted from £700 to £3500.

What should she be looking for ?

  • Id suggest you ask around local colleges and uni's to see if any students want experience... there can be some talented students there who might do it for free or something small.

We got a couple of quotes around the 1800-2000 mark, which was too much for us, but Im quite lucky in that my grandfather and uncle are both good with a video camera! Other than that, maybe put an ad in the local paper asking for someone who wants experience?

We are paying £650 for ceremony and reception up to the first dance. We had a limited budget of £600 and went over a bit wiht a couple of extra DVDs. I called round loads and got prices then got Sample DVDs of the ones that were in price range and worked backwards. Where is the wedding could send you soem of the companies I looked at?
  • Why don't you ask for one of you close family members to do it for you with a video recorder. I had my now brother in law do mine and he did a brilliant job, it's a amazing what you can do with a video recorder and a tripod...

We then had someone we knew to edit it for us for nothing, which meant putting words and music to the video, looks amazing and brings back all them happy memories of the day. At least you will still get it recorded and save yourself loads of money!

    Hope that help's x

They don't want DIY, they are too fussy. Wedding in Cardiff. They want early morning preparation, ceremony, speeches and first dance and then some when everyone's had a drink later stuff so really all day from 8am to 11pm but they want to end up with a light hearted, natural sort of video that captures the mood of the day.

I have to say, that for that amount of work, I think the quotes you got were quite reasonable then. As well as being there for the actual day, there will be a lot of work afterwards to edit the video.

I think to see around some place for asking the price and see the videos they had created is needed.
