Hi everyone
What i thought i should do is pop down how i will personally hit my target of £1000 - some of the things i list will be relevant to others and some won't. What i've done at the side of each below is jotted down how i've arrived at this as the target and how i expect to meet this too. Hope this is a help anyways
1-3 bay of e sales. I have listed over 150 newly listed items - as opposed to relists on eb*y in the last couple of months. Some of the things have sold. Some of the things i have re-listed. In january and february my sales were between £100 - £150 in the month. I have already sold over £60 of goods on eb*y since 1st March so £150 for me should be realistic. However, it will still be a strect as i still have to find £120 for my 2 other credit card bills and this is more than likely where i'll take the money from - so a stretch as £150 for this target + £120. I *will* say - i would never have thought i had over 100 items to list - or even 10 for that matter as i had decluttered so much. I pushed myself to part with things and to be honest i do not miss them. It was also a surprise how well some small things sold too so that was good.4, cashback i have cashback tracking already and have put in a claim for some which isn'tHope it pays out. Some of the cashback was free though i.e. no need to make a payment to get it. These are funds i *should* get and will pay to this target so i have included them here.
5-6 usual payment £100 is the payment i budget each month for this so will just be from salary as a normal payment
7, storecupboard challenge Cutback food shopping by £12.50 a week = £50 all paid to this credit card
8-10, MS a really high amount to achieve and i've had no MS income for several months. The thing is no month exists in a bubble separate to other months entirely. I completed some MS work last month that i expect to be paid this month - almost £100  I have now accepted a further £50 of work. I do do a tax return each year for this.
11, Bits n Bobs As it says - there's often bits of money that alone don't make £50 but swept over to this will add up. So if i save more than £12.50 on food shopping the rest will go here. If i budget £20 for a night out and spend £10 the £10 goes here and so on
12, Surveys Wow! Thats gonna be alot of surveys - this is here to push me to do the surveys
13, Salary owed money i should have been paid but haven't from my p/t work and needs to be chased
14-17, Savings cashed in The savings i am cashing in i had already decided to overpay some to this account - this is £200 extra to that that i was going to hold back for something for the house. As that is now going to be a long time away (as £200 won't cover it) i've decided to pay it off this bill rather than risk having a balance incurring interest and money sat there doing nothing.
18-19, Snowball bill no longer paying target 1 had £40 budgetted towards it, target 4 had £80 budgetted = £120 so £100 for this and i'll leave the £20 for target 3 that i'm also clearing
20, Snowball household bill no longer paying i have a very big household bill to pay but once its paid it is finished in full. I am paying it in full from the savings account i am withdrawing money from. So £50 from my salary normally paid to this bill can come off this debt. The remaining £28 will go to target 3.CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Hope my list has been a help to some people
I should have also said - i am near to payout on a few surveys
Other things for extra money could be:-
A 2nd job - i used to have a p/t job and this really helped
Overtime / bonuses from work
Carboot - i *may* do one to shift the eb*y stuff if it doesn't sell
I have also made a bit of referral money on bingo - all paid to target 2 though
Just trying to throw down some ideas to help everyone
Of course next month i won't have any savings to cash in so i'll need to raise extra myself by another method. Although that does make me think i do actually have £200 exactly tucked away that i just can never be bothered going through the hassle of getting out :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Maybe this is the push i need to get my mitts on that money too.
If these things all work out though it does mean i'll have paid off target 3 by the end of april and will be left with 3 debts:-
The overdraft i live in  and pay interest to do so £1500
The 0% card £1650
Joint savings i borrowed£1160
It feels as though i;ve missed something out though as last month i haad 7 debts and on the last day of next month i could have 3 debts :eek:CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Thanks for your list DDFW, it is helpful.
I'll have to think about how I can raise extra cash. I can't get overtime or bonuses in my work so those are out.
I do have plenty to sell though
DDFW - you are so close to being debt free :T :T :T Well done! You will so manage it by your birthday!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Thanks jwil
As you've probably gathered posting the list helped me too as it prompted me to think about getting rid of that £200 savings for now to try and help hit target
And i'd better get on with eb*y now - i couldn't find the custard so i had rice pud! Om nom nom!CC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -
Good luck with the listing DDFW.
I've made another snowglobe :j I'm getting quite addicted to making these now. I'll have a house full of them soon and will be moaning I'm sure"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Thanks for the list, DDFW. I've now made my own but I think it's rather optimistic and I don't have a huge range of money-makers.
I've divided the Ebay into 2 segments, because I think the second block is going to be difficult to achieve - actually almost all of it is going to be difficult to achieve but a body's got to try.
They are listed in order of likelihood of achieving them:
Chunk 1 ..........................Savings from normal spending
Chunks 2,3,4 ...................Ebay 1
Chunks 5,6 ......................Cashback
Chunks 7,8 ......................Amazon
Chunks 9,10 ....................Car Boot
Chunk 11 ........................Unexpected Bounty (well, you never know!)
Chunks 12,13,14 ..............Ebay 2
Chunks 15,16,17,18 ..........Extra Work
So in summary:
Savings from normal spending............£50
Ebay 1..........................................£150
Cashback......................................£100
Amazon........................................£100
Car Boot.......................................£100
Unexpected Bounty.........................£50
Ebay 2.........................................£150
Extra Work....................................£200
Total £900. I should add that extra/unexpected expenses for end Feb/March are now running at almost 500 quid.:eek:
So I may well use any extra money to balance the books rather than pay off debt - we'll see.
The good news is that today my haircut was reduced so saved £20, I saved £5 by parking in a side street (up a steep hill!), and another £7 on other savings. So that's £32 I've sent to Cap1. Making £132 in all that I've paid off extra from debt so far.0 -
:T:T:T:T:T peaceandfreedom that is brilliant
Optimism is defintely the way to goMine is the same - even if i hit target on the surveys i'm relying on them paying out promptly to meet the £1000 - but if they pay out in April nothings lost is it?
Grr! To unexpected expenses - i have a bill which i got the final figure on today - just shy of £550 :mad::mad: That would have been a really good payment off the debtAdded to that is the £120 i knew i was leaving myself short - oh and then target 1 - has interest of £50+ added  which i'm shocked at as usually its £20 a month
So that to find too. Still i'm up for the challenge - just about
Just struggling to find stuff to sell now
The other thing with the lists though is i find they make me think of other things - i never thought of that £200 savings thats just awkward to get to. By thinking of my savings account it obviously nudged some cells next to this one and now it looks like i'll cash this in to hit Aprils target too.
With eb*y i was pretty surprised by some things i listed at 99p going for nearly £10 - different bits and pieces. I need to stop checking if i've sold anything else too:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: I don't think i posted it here but jwil will know - when i was really struggling last months and i'd decluttered so much already i just got on with listing things i'd have happily kept. i don't miss any of the things now and i'm not suggesting you sell anything at all that you want to keep - the point i'm finally getting to is that what i listed that i wanted to keep i put it on at a decent price e.g if it sold at the start price then that was fine as i'd listed it at the minimum i'd have been happy to accept. Some things went on the first listing, some when they were re-listed, some when they were re-listed the second time and some when re-listed the third time
I did pay for the listing once on the dearer stuff and then just re-listed on the free listings. And its stuff that i now realise i don't need going which is great
And fantastic all those savings - parking / haircut and other things - it really does mount up and great that its already reduced the credit card bill :j:j:jCC1:T £[STRIKE]2531[/STRIKE] £1460MORTGAGE OVERPAYMENTS: £10575.20 Target £12,100MF Date: [STRIKE]August 2042[/STRIKE] May 2035Declutter 1000 things by Xmas 2015! 53/10000 -

Well, I am going to count what I manage to earn in March - if it doesn't come in until April or later, that's fine - I'm still counting it in March.

Good advice, DDFW. I have lots of stuff I don't want to keep in fact, so I'll start with those. It's such a lot of effort though (lots of clothes that need washing/ironing/sorting/photographing) but I must do it - and I will appreciate the decluttering aspect as well.
Thanks for starting the challenge and for all your encouragement - if I only make an extra couple of hundred quid, it'll still be a big help. :j0
