Hi
I was just wondering if anyone had tried the turkey or pork joints from Lidl before and if they are reccommended or not?
I would normally buy our meat from Costco, but we aren't near one this year.
Cheers

I get most of my meat from Lidl. Much much better than the supermarkets (apart from Morrisons). I have one of their pork joints most months and it's been really nice every time. Lovely crackling it makes too
. I've never had their turkey, but certainly their chicken, gammon, pork and beef are very nice.

Haven't done Lidl for ages as there is not one local to me but do buy meat joints from Aldi and they are as good as any main stream store in my view.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

Thanks for all the feedback, knowing Lidls they will be out of stock by the time I get there on a Friday doh, we have to go and visit someone on friday who is literally a stones throw away from a Lidls so we are combining the petrol. I'll let you know how it goes.0

Hiya,
I get most of my meat from Lidl. I find it as good as the Butcher's. They aren't pumped full of water either. The prices are also reasonable and even the 'processed' foods like chicken nuggets aren't so 'processed' you can see they are real chicken breast nuggets rather than ground up chewed up white meat that you get in most of those kinds of food.
I bought some lamb chops from the last week their were 5 in each pack and they were lovely. And this comes from someone who won't eat lamb if it tastes 'lamby'.:-)
I also got a pork joint recently which was gorgeous. It was on sale as well. Feed the four of us and there was enough to make a second meal the next night for two. So well worth it.:-)0 -
I much prefer Lidls meats. I had a voucher for tesco this week so went there & got the 4 for £12 meats. We have only had the pork chops so far & they are way below the quality level of Lidls. They have fat running through them not just a strip of fat around the top.
I'll be back to Lidl next time.Life is short, smile while you still have teeth0 -
Another :money: from me.
I had some of their sirloin steak last week (with 30% off) and it was probably the best steak I have ever bought.0 -
excellent quality, cant be beaten on quality or pricesmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -
wow I haven't been to lidl in ages, last thing I got was a frozen turkey which was ace at 9.99.
I did try the beef a while ago and it was awfull, but to be fair i've had the same results from other supermarkets too.
I think my MIL got a turkey roast joint from them (Crown joint?) and she said it was lovely.
I can vouch for there coleslaw/potato salad - gorgeous.
