    You should be able to draw about 4% a year from that sustainably or 5% if you're prepared to risk depleting your capital. So £75 a week is safe(ish!) and £96 a week is dangerous.

    This is very much a rule-of-thumb, but quite a handy one.
    I am not a financial adviser and neither do I play one on television. I might occasionally give bad advice but at least it's free.
