Welcome Finance

I think i probably know the answer to this but i wanted others opinion so would be grateful.

I have an outstanding loan with Welcome Finance the current balance is 807 less Decembers payment of 31 which will reduce it to just under 800. I am going to receive approx £620 cash after christmas and was curious as to whether Welcome would accept this one off sum as a full and final payment and mark my credit file as settled.

The loan is not defaulted and has never been (which i think will lead to them saying no as they know i will keep paying)

Just wondered if anyone had come across a situation where they would accept less as a settlement figure.

Thanks in advance

  • I think they would accept a low offer if your loan was defaulted & sold on to a DCA. Although, this is not the case there is still no harm in trying to barter them down.

Also check if you have been missold PPI with your loan, it's worth looking into.

    All the best.

There was no PPI sold unfortunately.

They were my thoughts but i dont want to default my loan just to save a couple of hundered quid will write to them and see if they will accept the offer the worse they can say is no. Will still pay the money off the balance the sooner i am rid of Welcome the better.
  • Exactly!

    All the Best Phil.
