Been a TV extra for about 6 years now, mainly while I was at uni but still do the odd job now and again as the extra cash is handy.
Been paid anything from £50 for a 12hr day to £1000 for 3 hours! Done loads of different and fun jobs and if you can put up with the waiting around it's well worth it.
If you want PM me with where you're based and might be able to recommend some agencies, but otherwise just look in your yellow pages for casting agencies/model agencies.
Be prepared to pay a fee for professional photos (you could organise yourself) and to go into any headsheets or websites, think I paid about £80 when I first joined and then about £95 a few years later to get things updated, if you're unsure about this tell them to take it out of your first few jobs. Some agencies also charge an account handling fee or admin fee too, mine don't. They will all take commission which ranges from 15% to 25%.
Hope that helps, need anything further or got any questions just get in touch.2p off is still 2p off!0
