How much does an electric towel rail cost to use ?

I need a new towel rail and because I need a large one, it seems I cannot get a 50w or similar dry one and need to get a glycerine filled one at about 500/600w.
Now I know it isn't drawing 600w 24/7/365 but I don't see a way to compare it to the 50w model, which even if it did draw full power 24/7 would only use just over 1kwh per day.
I want to know how far I can discount the 600w*24 =14.4kwh as I'm not in the market to spend £500 a year heating towels !

A 600w towel rail is massive - in effect a radiator.
You can get timers so just run the radiator for as long as you need, see:

I know but there are wet towels 3 or 4 times a day which is fine as the current rail is on 24/7 but only 60w.
I was amazed at the shift upwards but the impact doesn't have to be of the magnitude of 10 as it cannot possibly draw 600w after it is already heated.
The missing link in costing it is to establish just how much it does or would draw as it would really have to be on 24/7/365 and at that point I am at a loss.0
