credit card help

Hiya

I have just been provisionally offered a job with a bank subjecgt to credit search.

Slightly worried as have had problems wiht mail over the last few months and have missed several payments.

After contacting the companies and royal main decided to pay the cards off to stop any further problems.

I have a morg and loan which I pay every month.

Does any1 know if the missed credit card payments can stop me getting the job with the bank on the credit search?

Thanks in advance

Possibly. Banks like people who are whiter than white for obvious reasons.

The one thing that bothers me is that you have credit cards, you know that payments are due, why not contact the card company if they don't provide a website (which there isn't many) and pay them each month. Alternatively set up a direct debit for the minimum payment.

If you do get the job (the credit search may let you down though) don't tell them that you missed payments due to problems with your mail. Thats an absolutely terrible excuse for not paying them, that will be just as bad as a bad credit score ! Everyone knows that if you have a balance on a credit card you have to make monthly payments, whether you get statements or not, you need a better excuse. I work for a bank, if you failed the credit search, the job offer would be withdrawn. Missed payments will show on a credit search, how many were there ?

Not getting the credit card bill is not an excuse to miss something you know is due every month.
