Tax man got it wrong

About 3 weeks ago I rec'd out of the blue a letter from tax man saying I owed them what appeared to be a lot of money. As tax is deducted at source by my pension provider I took a look at the forms provided by them detailing pension and tax deducted. What the tax man wanted was exactly double that which was deducted in 2010/2011. Making absolutely certain they'd made a mistake I sent them a letter, a mildly snotty one, telling them they'd made a mistake.
2 wks later they replied agreeing. From now on every tax letter/demand I get from them I shall examine most carefully. I urge all who get such letters to do the same. :T
