Advice

Hello, thanks for helping me out.

I live with my GF in a house which we are considering part exchanging and we are keen for your expert advice.

Our house is worth £110k and we have around 45k equity within. The house we are looking at is up for £299k and we both earn well enough so that payment on this jump wont be a problem.

We have yet to negociate the price etc at the moment - However -I would ideally like to pay off our next next mortgage off in 15 years or less. We have had a mortgage advisor recommended who we are seeing next week and I have been researching the guides on here, etc. I am drawn to the idea of fixing for 5 years and then when the equity is at a better level going for an offset one for the next 5. t

My plan is really to keep the total overall figure in mind, throughout the process but - All advice gratefully received on the potential pitfalls / things to look out for.

Not really sure what you want advice about, to be honest. Is a 5-year fixed now then an offset a good idea? Who knows? You know your personal circumstances better than anyone and you can gauge your ability to withstand increases in interest rates or not. As you haven't posted (like most other people seeking advice) a succinct synopsis of your situation including full breakdown of numbers, there's only so much we can offer.
