Moorcroft Debt Recovery question - Increasing payments.

  • Ah, yes. When I set up the payment plan they tried to convince me that if I didn't pay them by Direct Debit they payment wouldn't clear in time and they would have no option to take me to court. Since my husband gets paid on 26th of each month, that's when we will pay them and by Standing Order only.

I'd understand the bother if I was paying them peanuts, but as it is we pay them just over £190 a month for a debt of just over £10,000. But they keep sending letters stating that since it's going to take 54 months to pay off the debt then they have increased our monthly payments so we can be debt free sooner. I don't care how long it takes me to pay off the debt, I have no plans to die in the next 5 years, so I will continue to pay what I can afford until I am in a position to offer a full and final settlement. We find ourselves in this lovely position thanks to Lloyds washing their hands of us when my husband was made redundant back in 2009.

Thanks again. I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant and have somehow misplaced the rational side of my brain, everything somehow seems a million times worse then they actually are.
