Good - that sounds like a much calmer approach. I have usually found that worrying about the worst that can happen never helps - it often doesn't happen and if it does then worrying about it hasn't helped a bitSarei,
Thank you for your response, it has been a great help. Maybe I was flying off the handle and I feel much calmer now.
I am going to follow your advice on volunteering the minimum. The letter specifically states inconsitencies in sickline so I imagine it is the ticked box they are talking about. I am also going to try and ascertain more info on this whole thing, it was just such a shock.
Thanks again for your response I have found it invaluable :T
Just think things through calmly and rationally. 99.9% of what is on that fit note was filled in by the doctor - so even your mother couldn't have screwed that up! If it is just about a tick in a box - well I doubt they have talked to the doctor to ascertain he didn't put the tick there, I doubt s/he could remember; at worst - you shouldn't haven't trusted a mother not to helpfully screw things up by helping! This isn't a hanging offence - it a confusion at worst, and it can be fixed. It certainly isn't a dismisable offence - no tribunal would think it was.
Just write (e-mail is best if you can) and ask your employers why you are being disciplined and what evidence they have of misconduct. There is nothing wrong with saying how upset you are and that you know you have done nothing wrong, and you don't see how you can defend yourself if they don't tell you what you are supposed to have done.0
