Surely you can't get rid of all the jerks, or unemployment will rocket!

There will doubtless be employment tribunals that will be worthy of headlines if Banker Bob is found sacking in a willy nilly fashion, as claimed in the article.

And that's the sad thing about this country.

His views seem perfectly reasonable to me:

"So far he claims dozens of executives have been shown the door after behaving like jerks or spending lavish amounts of money.
Mr Diamond also said if bankers act like 'Prima Donnas' or don't get along with their colleagues they can work elsewhere."

    Good for him!

I can see the court case now.

Banker : "Well I was hungry your honour, and Chez Pierre Du Pont De Michelin was doing one of their 'Buy a banquet du jour; get a bottle of Chateau Neuf du Pape 1937 for less than a grand' deals. It sounded very MSE"

Prosecution : "Bring in the Pizza Express Meat Feast 12 incher, and 2l bottle of Diet Pepsi"

I suspect this is just a PR stunt before Bonus season kicks off.

He sounds like a complete jerk himself. He earns £6.5M/yr and objects to someone spending £44k on wine in a restaurant?!

If he's going to tell bankers what to do with their money, can we tell him to give £6.49M/year to charity?

Being the Daily Mail, I suspect that none of this has actually happened, however.
