Hospital bank work

Hi,
I'm a student nurse and have just been interviewed for a position on their nurse bank list to cover shifts at short notice.
I'm not doing this purely just for the money, also for the experience as nursing jobs in secure services are hard to come by where I live so I want to get my foot in the door as a support worker, and then when I qualify in august hopefully I will be in a better position to apply for a staff nurse post if there are any available.
My question is I receive an NHS bursary every month as I'm a student nurse, and me and my partner receive child tax credits for our child and working tax credits as my partner works full time.
How much would I lose in these payments if I worked around one 12 hour shift per week?
Also, how can I declare my exact income as I will be doing bank work, so not contracted to fixed hours, ie one week I might not work any shifts but the week after I might be lucky and get two shifts.
Thanks

Anyone know how I'd go about my last point ie working hours?0

The bursary is non means tested so that won't be affected.
As for tax credits I'm not 100% sure but if you go on the entitled to website and add your income but don't include any of the bursary (or PLA/DA if you claim those). That should give you an idea if your payments will change.
Tax credits don't take into account any of the bursary so it should be quite accurate
With regards to the income you just have to give an estimate. It's better to slightly overestimate anyway so you don't end up with an overpayment.
Although I always work a min of 16 hours a week I estimate my income to be whatever I'd be earning if I was to do around 24 hrs a week as uni weeks and annual leave I always end up working more than what I can do on placement if that makes sense0 -
If he works fulltime you are over the 30hours anyway so it doesn't matter - a few years back now but when I worked on the bank I was told to average the hours I worked and I usually did less than 16 (did between 1 and 3 7.5hour shifts a week)
your bursary isn't affected by it
I estimated my income based on something like 15hours a week with tax credits and that seemed to work ok for me0 -
Thank you Cherry bomb, what you say makes perfect sense
